I love the joy, freedom and hope in this post. Maria's painting, "The Goodbye Day" comes to mind. Enjoy the freedom and let it last for more than just a few weeks!
Congratulations Lisa & I ❤️ this reflection. You stay inspiring others who've had the pleasure of engaging your spirit! Enjoy the summer, writing and listening to what the ancestors and spirit have next for you! 🤗 AJR
So glad to learn the word tocaya. Back when there used to be video stores, there were several Robin Epsteins at mine. There's also one that's a sex columnist. And a professor. Good luck with everything coming down the pike!
You. Are. Hilarious. This was so fun to read. I love your dedication to supporting the other "Lisa Cowans" over the years -- the work tracking them down, thinking about them, worrying about them. I wish you lots of time and space to feel the spirt, and comfort in really taking both. Where are you rushing to?
I will picture you under a tree with your Tacoyas all week. Maybe all year. I love it. Thank you for sharing this. Mine will be with me one tree, or picnic table, over - I will be thrilled to tell them about their car repair appointment…! Can’t wait to watch where the spirit take you.
Congrats on your last day and your mfa. Congrats on Jacob’s new place!
I love the Lisa stories. When I lived in Boston there was another Susan buchsbaum who wrote for the Phoenix at the time. I’d get her mail, she mine. I’m pretty sure she also moved to nyc.
Don't you wonder what your tocayas know and imagine about you? I wonder about all of mine. Sounds like the premise for a funny series. I loved this post!

Brilliant and nutty! I love that I am always left wondering WTF is she going to say next? Congratulations on your new era of unbridled creativity!
Your column is deep, witty, and wise. I love it -- and all of the phases of you -- so much! You are an inspiration. Sending love.

What a May! And what a great read! Thanks for sharing! Does this mean you have…. retired? If so, congratulations!!
Love how you make me laugh out loud! Enjoy the space! ❤️❤️
Enjoy the in between time, it’s well deserved and helpful. I used to have a lot of fun with the other Matthew (J) Gold who is also a bankruptcy atty.
